Registrar - Emergency Medicine

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018)

The role of the Registrar ‚Äď Emergency Medicine is to develop, consolidate and enhance clinical skills in the provision of high quality patient care and develop collaborative relationships with medical, surgical, anaesthetic, paediatric and psychiatric colleagues and senior staff as well as nursing and other support staff. The position of Registrar ‚Äď Emergency Medicine provides direct clinical services in Albury Wodonga Health Emergency Departments (both Albury and Wodonga campuses), working as a team member of a major regional trauma receival centre. Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate paperwork for AWH to meet its credentialing obligations.

Rehabilitation Registrar - Advanced Trainee

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018)

The Rehabilitation Service at Wodonga has a twenty (20) bed rehabilitation ward and outpatient service. The service also has a Prosthetics/Orthotics Unit located off campus. A large Allied Health Department supplies multi-disciplinary staff to both in and outpatient services. Most of the inpatients are neurological (including stroke), Orthopaedic, Amputees and others have musculo-skeletal conditions. AWH also looks after spinal cord and traumatic brain injury patients. Deconditioning and intensive care related myo-neuropathies constitute other diagnostic groups of patients cared for by the Rehabilitation Team. The role of the Rehabilitation Registrar is to develop, consolidate and enhance clinical skills in the provision of high quality patient care and develop collaborative relationships with medical, surgical, and senior staff as well as nursing and other support staff. Anaesthetic Fellow

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018)

Our anaesthetic service supports a large, regional perioperative unit located over two sites with eight operating theatres including a busy endoscopy suite, and covers trauma, emergency and elective surgery, preadmissions clinic and acute pain service. The department has an established role in post graduate teaching with four accredited anaesthetic registrar training posts and is a busy regional referral hospital with two campuses situated in Albury and Wodonga. Albury Wodonga Health performs approximately 14,000 surgical procedures per year. The health service has a busy intensive care unit with an excellent MET team operating and a significant amount of trauma. Albury Wodonga Health delivers services in general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatric surgery, urology, orthopaedics, endoscopy, acute pain, radiology, ECT, and faciomaxillary surgery.

The anaesthetic department has an experienced staff of dedicated consultants and expert advice is always on hand. There would be good clinical support for this position.

Geriatric Registrar

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018)

Provide registrar services to geriatric patients of Albury Wodonga Health. A full range of registrar level Geriatric Medicine expertise is required. Other areas include outpatient consultations, education, training, provision of advice within clinical field and participation in the on-call roster with supervision. he Geriatric Registrar will work closely with other health professionals and hospital management in delivery of clinical services.

Orthopaedic Registrar

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018)

The Albury Wodonga Health Orthopaedic Unit looks after all elective and trauma components of Orthopaedic Surgery. The Unit provides assessment and treatment to patients of Albury Wodonga Health Orthopaedic Services. The Unit also provides direct responsibility to the Emergency Department orthopaedic patients.

The role of the the Orthopaedic Registrar is to provide assessment and treatment for patients of AWH in consultation with the treating consultant.

Medical and Infectious Diseases Senior Registrar

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018)

A new Senior Medical and Infectious Diseases Registrar position has recently been developed at Albury Wodonga Health. The dual roles are shared 0.5 FTE each to create a full-time position. This role has capacity to be accredited as 6 months core advanced training in General and Acute Medicine and/or 6 months non-core advanced training in Infectious Diseases. This would suit a level 5 or 6 trainee who is ideally accredited with the college for advanced training and has an interest in infectious diseases.
