Medical and Infectious Diseases Senior Registrar

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2017)

A new Senior Medical and Infectious Diseases Registrar position has recently been developed at Albury Wodonga Health. The dual roles are shared 0.5 FTE each to create a full-time position. This role has capacity to be accredited as 6 months core advanced training in General and Acute Medicine and/or 6 months non-core advanced training in Infectious Diseases.

This would suit a level 5 or 6 trainee who is ideally accredited with the college for advanced training and has an interest in infectious diseases. There is current availably in the position from July 3 2017 through February 6 2018, with a 12 month position available from February 2018.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not apply for employment.

Radiation Oncology Registrar/SRMO (Unaccredited Position)

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2017)

A new registrar/SRMO radiation oncology position has recently been developed at Albury Wodonga Health. The role will be to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe and effective person centred care. This would suit a 3 or 4 year post graduate medical officer who is ideally interested in radiation oncology. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide a high level inpatient care

  • Maintain accurate and timely records

  • Care of terminally ill patients

  • Radiation treatment planning under supervision of radiation oncologist

  • Review of patients undergoing radiation therapy

  • Arrange patient admissions

  • Presentation of patients in multidisciplinary and quality assurance meetings

  • Quality communication with all staff members of the cancer centre

2018 Recruitment for Registrars

 

Obstetrics & Gynaecology Senior Registrar 

(Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2018 Clinical Year)

An opportunity exists for a twelve month appointment for a senior RANZCOG O & G registrar, who has completed their written and oral MRANZCOG. This would suit a level 5 or 6 trainee who wishes to improve their gynaecological surgical skills, operative obstetrics, reproductive medicine and ultrasound. This position encompasses the busiest gynaecological surgical position in Australia.

The department is vibrant and supportive and the successful applicant will have a busy gynaecological workload with a wide range of procedures performed.   It would be expected that significant experience will be achieved in operative obstetrics including rotational forceps., and also training in assisted reproduction with consulting and performance of procedures.

This position is an outstanding opportunity to gather practical and operative skills and is well regarded by those who have previously occupied the role.  There is  no requirement for weekend on call.

Albury Wodonga has one of Australia's largest inland populations and provides an excellent lifestyle with a wide variety of sporting and recreational activities.  The catchment population for Obstetrics & Gynaecology is 250,000.  There are two specialists registrars attached to the unit.
