Recruitment Process

Albury Wodonga Health employs 15 interns to our popular and competitive annual intern program. We have 3 interns rotating from Western Health and 1 from the Murray to Mountains program.

We recruit our intern positions via both Rural Preferential Recruitment (RPR) Program from NSW (5 positions) and Post Medical Graduate Council (PMCV) program in Victoria (10 positions).

All interns are given 2 year Victorian contracts.

Rotations offered are:

*Anaesthetics                                                        *General Surgery

*Geriatrics                                                            *Psychiatry

*Rehabilitation                                                      *Emergency Medicine

*General Medicine - exposure to subspecialty of Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Endocrinology

Future career pathways offered:

Basic Physician Training

GP Emergency

Advanced Diploma of Obstetrics GP

ACEM Emergency Training

Albury Wodonga Health have close links with the Regional GP training provider, Bogong. Our current HMOs are pursuing their GP training via Bogong, be it Australasian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACCRM) or Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). 


Interns have a weekly scheduled education session covering a range of topics. These topics includes the likes of plaster workshops. As we have links with Murray to Mountain program, interns are welcomed to attend the Murray to Mountain education sessions when it is videoconferenced to us.

The consultants hold a quarterly Peer Review Meeting where all staff and regional health professionals are invited to attend.
