Mental Health

The Mental Health Service at AWH - Wodonga Campus is committed to provide high quality mental health services to adults, children and adolescents who live within our catchment area.

Public mental health services provide specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing care to people with serious mental health problems.

Services are also provided offering support and advice to their families and carers.

Public mental health services are funded by the Department of Human Services and are managed through the Victorian Hospital System.

Services include:

A variety of statewide services provide treatment for clients with special needs. Mental health services staff work closely with GPs and otehr health  and community care providers in order to deliver the best possible care. Northeast Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Child and adolescent mental health services are available to young people aged up to 18 years with serious psychiatric disturbance or who are at risk of such disturbance. You can seek assistance either through your child's school, community

The Adult Community Mental Health Service (ACMHS) is a community based service that is designed to support people aged between 18 and 64 in their recovery from mental health challenges.

Older Person's Mental Health Service

The Older Person's Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a community based service for people over the age of 65 who may be experiencing issues with their mental health.

Integrated Primary Mental Health Service

The Integrated Primary Mental Health Service (IPMHS) provides mental health care within general practice clinics in the Northeast and Border region. The IPMHS also provide a range of health promotion activities, education and training events, including the provision of Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

Inpatient Mental Health

The Inpatient Mental Health Service is a 20 bed unit located in Wangaratta for people aged 18 and over requiring a hospital stay due to experiencing acute mental health distress.
