Vacancies at Albury Wodonga Health

Located on the border of Victoria and NSW, Albury Wodonga Health is the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne, and the second largest regional health service in Victoria.

Our services include cardiology (and the full suite of catheterisation), intensive care, emergency, general medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and cancer services with the regional cancer centre located on our Albury Campus, supporting patients and families from diagnosis to oncology, radiotherapy and wellbeing services.

In addition we have community-based mental health services and an extensive range of community and primary health services. In January 2021 the newly established AWH Local Public Health Unit was responsible for the public health response to COVID-19 for the Local Government Areas of Alpine, Indigo, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga and will continue to provide an independent operational function contributing to national response to pandemics and other health responses.

We continue to support a 3-year Basic Physician Training pathway to encourage and support junior doctors to gain access to high quality clinical and educational opportunities at accredited training sites, in both regional and metropolitan settings.

AWH Mental Health service reaches beyond the cross-border region and covers an area spanning 50,000 square kilometres from Southern New South Wales to North East Victoria with 10 specialty community based mental health services, plus three acute care services, and three recovery and rehabilitation facilities.

Currently we are working on a Master Plan to realise the vision to be Australia’s leading regional health services.  This Plan will determine the infrastructure needed to meet the future needs of the community. For more information on the new single-site hospital and other projects please go here.
