Albury Wodonga Health’s Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery are thrilled at the announcement of a $100,000 gift from the Pratt Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Visy.
This significant donation will enable the purchase of 30 new Atom NeoCots as well as new IV poles and coincides with Visy’s 20 year anniversary in Wodonga.
Benefits of the new cots include:
- Height adjustable, benefiting new mothers recovering from birth and caesarian sections, as well as being more inclusive for people with a disability.
- Adjustable mattress, that can tilt for sick and premature babies needing to be moved to assist with breathing difficulties.
- Accessories can be attached, allowing newborns to stay at their parents’ bedside whilst receiving IV therapy.
- Ergonomically designed for staff when moving them.
The new IV poles will to be attached to some cots enabling babies to stay at their parent’s bedside whilst receiving IV therapy.
"This very generous donation will allow us to upgrade all the cots within the Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery. As a result, funds that were initially set aside for new cots can now be redirected to support other areas of need across Albury Wodonga Health," said Gina Bladon, Manager of the AWH Foundation.
“This is a wonderful outcome for the 1650 babies that are born each year at Albury Wodonga Health and an incredible legacy for our community” said Mark Norden, Medical Director of Women’s and Children’s Services.
The Albury Wodonga Health Foundation was established in 2022 and partners with the many proud and passionate supporters of Albury Wodonga Health.
