Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) offers a Midwife Care Program to women with an uncomplicated, low to moderate risk pregnancy.

Set criteria does apply for inclusion in the program as per the Australian College of Midwives National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral (2024). Women are encouraged to contact our Midwife Care Program and book in for a screening appointment by 14 weeks.

Our Midwife Care Program is currently being transitioned to a new model of care called the Maternity Antenatal Postnatal Service (MAPS). This service is free and there will be continuity of care, with one known midwife caring for the pregnancy across the antenatal and postnatal period. The MAPS service will commence early October 2024 and will aim to support more women and their families through their pregnancy and birthing journey.

AWH is committed to working in close partnership with women and their families. In the event that the Midwife Care Program reaches capacity, our dedicated Nursing and Midwifery Team will carefully assess each woman’s unique care needs and personal circumstances, ensuring that the most suitable and tailored care model is identified to provide optimal support.

At Albury Wodonga Health, our aim is to support and provide high-quality, safe and connected care to women and their families, most suitable to their needs.
