Occupational Violence and Aggression (OVA) is NOT "just part of the job" and is NEVER OK. AWH care about staff wellbeing and are working towards a zero / free OVA Workplace. To improve Employee Wellbeing / Early Intervention services and OVA Reporting.
The hotline enables timely reporting, via messaging service, at the time of the incident. A member of the Employee Wellbeing Team will then make contact to ensure you and your colleagues get the right support at the right time. Being abused, threatened or assaulted at work isn’t part of anyone’s job description. Occupational violence is NEVER OK.
5 Steps to Reporting:
- Your name and position
- If you are reporting on behalf of someone else
- Date, time and location
- Brief description of what occurred
- Best contact number for follow up

First step is to talk to your Manager.
1. Managers directly responsible for the management and supervision of employees shall act as Contact Officers under this procedure. If you are unable to talk with your manager about the incident. Call 02 6051 7237 or email people.culture@awh.org.au
2. The Workforce Relations Advisors, Senior Workforce Relations Business Partner and the Executive Director, People & Culture shall also act as Contact Officers and may be contacted for advice or the reporting of incidents or allegations under this procedure
3. Referral to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) may be appropriate in special cases or where the report relates to a member of the Senior Executive Team.
4. A person who wishes to report any incident of bullying, workplace violence, discrimination or sexual harassment should refer such report to their Manager in the first instance in the event they feel comfortable doing so.
