“Boards are critical in setting the strategic direction of any health service,” Mr Burke said.

“The two directors and the board delegate have important healthcare skills from clinical and corporate governance, legal, health policy and financial management, and will work cohesively with our current board of directors.

“Together, they strengthen our Board and combine local, regional and national representation. I look forward to working closely together to support our staff so they can deliver safe, high-quality care in Albury Wodonga,” he said.

Outgoing directors Anna Speedie and Lisa Ryan stepped back from their positions to pursue opportunities abroad and to better balance existing work commitments.

“We thank Lisa and Anna for the considerable contribution to Albury Wodonga Health during their tenure as directors, and we wish them both well for their next chapters,” Mr Burke said.

“Victoria’s health services continue to face significant disruption and demand challenges. Albury Wodonga Health is not immune to these challenges and the Board is united in working together to find new ways to enhance our services.
